ABOUT THE ROLE

This position sits within our core team at Head Office (Lytham St Anne's) reporting to the CFO.

We are looking for an analytical individual with a solid background in finance (CIMA/ACCA) to deliver regular MI (Management Information) updates covering the full portfolio of Corbenyah's investments and projects. Our objective is to utilise latest technologies and processes to develop live MI reporting where possible.

You will work directly with the wider finance team and project leads of all businesses within the group to gather, validate and challenge business process information and financial/operational data. You will then create and present insight, KPIs and consumable dashboard information to our senior management team – allowing for strategic data driven decision making and improved operational efficiencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The MI Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting on financial and operational data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making. The role involves working closely with various departments to ensure accurate data collection and effective reporting mechanisms.

DATA COLLECTION AND MANAGEMENT:

Gather data proactively from various internal business areas.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data.
Manage and maintain databases and data systems.

DATA ANALYSIS:

Analyse financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Perform variance analysis and identify the root causes of discrepancies.
Develop and implement data models and analytical frameworks.

REPORTING AND VISUALISATION:

Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Present findings and insights in a clear and concise manner.

COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION:

Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to understand their data needs.
Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and projects.
Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to convey complex data insights.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting.
Implement new tools and technologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
Strong knowledge of SQL and database management.
Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python) is advantageous.
Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to present data in a clear and compelling way to non-technical audiences.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within the finance sector.
Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Proven track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams.
